Bill Champlin & Wunderground

Bill Champlin & WunderGround was a Progressive/Rock/R&B band founded in 2017 by three veteran singer/songwriter/musician pals Bill and Tamara Champlin and Gary Falcone.

Bill Champlin & WunderGround featured multiple Grammy winner (After the Love Has Gone and Turn Your Love Around) and former member of the iconic band Chicago, Bill Champlin whose “distinctive, R&B soaked” vocal talent (Hard Habit to Break, Look Away] is considered by many to be one of the most recognizable voices in rock music. An impressive singer/guitarist/ keyboard player/arranger/ producer/songwriter since 1966, Bill is also a founding member of the now legendary San Francisco band Sons of Champlin.

Co-founder Tamara Champlin is an American singer-songwriter known for her soulful vocal on Heart of Glass from Caddyshack II and she has performed with Elton John, Leon Russell, The Blues Brothers, Mick Fleetwood, Andreas Carlsson, and Michael Macdonald among many others. Tamara has co-written songs for the Doobie Brothers, Paul Rodgers, Rita Coolidge and Chicago.

As an A-list guitarist and vocalist, co-founder Gary Falcone has worked with such artists as Yes, Rod Stewart, Alice Cooper, Celine Dion, Starship, Randy Newman, Aaron Neville, Janet Jackson, Billy Joel, Patti LaBelle, and hundreds more. Gary appeared and sang on the Justin Timberlake/Chris Stapleton-Live Performance video, Say Something.

Another member of WunderGround is keyboardist and singer, Mary Harris (Jimmy Buffet, Ambrosia, Animal Logic, Red Shoes.). Mary was the vocal arranger for three of Jimmy Buffett’s biggest selling albums and also did session work for the likes of Pink Floyd and XTC.

Burleigh Drummond (Ambrosia, Frank Zappa, Mighty Mo Rodgers, The Lost Dogs, Player). Burleigh is a founding member and drummer/percussionist for the group Ambrosia and been at the helm of the group for 48 years. He has done session work for everyone from Frank Zappa to Debbie Boone to Alan Parsons and beyond. Together with wife Mary Harris Tin Drum was formed resulting in three CD releases.

Bill Bodine is a producer composer arranger bassist who has been a fixture in the Los Angeles music community for 35 years. Since 1972, he has toured and recorded with Van Morrison, Cher, Olivia Newton-John, Peter Criss (Kiss), Melissa Manchester, Sergio Mendez, Joan Armatrading and Michael Macdonald. He has written songs for Glen Fry and Manhattan Transfer and scored over 300 commercials, TV series/specials and films, including the Michael Jackson Black & White Fox Special. As bassist for Bill Champlin & WunderGround, Bodine also played trumpet and arranged horns on the album Bleeding Secrets.
